This is a glorious depiction of fish swimming in a sea of silver. Each fish is drawn up, cut out, painted, resined, then attached to the backing board which is covered in fine silver foil/leaf. Depending on the light the fish seem to be floating independently from the board. It’s 100cm. POA

The 'Red Data Book' is a public document/book that was established to record the conservation status of rare, endangered and threatened species of animals, plants, and fungi.

Established in 1964, it serves as a crucial inventory for monitoring biodiversity, identifying species at risk of extinction, and guiding conservation actions.

In this artwork, the elusive Pepetuna, also known as the Ghost Moth, takes center stage. This is a painting of the Pelorus River at a point where the river turns. The painting is taken from a photo I took when travelling between Nelson and Picton. Just behind me in the car park was a chicken who really wanted to get in my vehicle. I fed it instead.
